GENERAL ROY S. GEIGER: The General was born 25 January 1885 in Middleburg Florida. He enlisted on 2 November 1907 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant 5 Februray 1909. He served in Nicaragua, Philippines and China early in his career. He entered flight training at Pensacola, Florida in March 1916 and became the Marine Corps' fifth aviator in June 1917. He became known as the "Father of Marine Aviation". At the outbreak of World War II, General Geiger was in command of the First Marine Aircraft Wing, Fleet Marine Force. He commanded the First Marine Amphibious Corps, which he led at Bougainville, Guam, Peleliu and Okinawa. General Geiger commanded the Fleet Marine Force, Pacific from July 1945 until he was called back to Headquarters Marine Corps in November 1946. Three months later, on 23 January 1947, General Geiger died at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland.

Knights Boat Ramp clean up detail: Every Monday morning at the 0645, located on US17 and Black Creek north of Green Cove Springs. If Monday is a designated holiday, we normally clean up on the following Tuesday vice that Monday. Following the clean up we retire to one of the local eateries such as Grumpys in Orange Park for breakfast and some great fellowship. If you are interested come out and join us for the clean up or just stop by for breakfast.
Robert H. Jenkins, Jr. Veterans' Domiciliary Home of Florida: We go the Vets domiciliary to play BINGO with those wild and crazy guys and gals in Lake City every third Saturday of the month. Meet at the Burger King on Kingsley Ave and Blanding Blvd at 1000 and we will car pool from there.
