Meeting – Tuesday, June 9, 2015---------
Commandant Branscome called the meeting to order at 1900 hours with 25 members present. Opening Ceremony conducted followed by POW/MIA ritual by Tom Perrone and Fred Barden.-------
Roll Call of Officers: Present – Commandant Branscome, Sr. Vice Russo, Jr. Vice Johnson, Judge Advocate Rinchich, Paymaster Schell, Chaplain Danford and Adjutant Lippincott. Absent– Sgt-at-Arms Morales (filled in by past Commandant Slater).-------
Application for Membership: None.-------
Previous Meeting minutes: Minutes of previous meeting was e-mailed and posted on-line @ web-site. Minutes approved as posted.-------
Correspondence: Commandant Branscome states that Jim Harrington has worked on our Detachment Challenge Coin – can purchase 100 coins at a cost of $. A short discussion followed. Tom Perrone made a motion for Detachment to purchase 100 coins. Bill Danford seconded, so carried.-------
VFW – Murrells Inlet Post #10420 having a Veteran’s Memorial and seeking to sell bricks – no response.------
Sunset Beach – Veteran’s Memorial being built – dedication on Nov. 11 @ 1 P.M. and are requesting detachment to supply Honor Guard.------
Golf Tournament at Brick Landing Plantation on Oct. 7 - 0 for golf and dinner.-------
July 4th at Calabash – Fire Company requesting detachment’s participation – Rifle Squad, Honor Guard, flag folding unit and a bugler. Start time is approx. 7:30 P.M. and to be completed by 9:05 P.M. – Fireworks at 9:15 P.M. Motion made for Detachment to participate and seconded, so moved.-------
Report of Paymaster: Paymaster Schell reports income of $ ($ from Belk’s Charity sale) and expenses of $. Anyone needing financial numbers to contact Paymaster for disclosure. Ralph Lilley made a motion to Accept Paymaster’s Report. Richard Fornaciari seconded, so carried.-------
Members sick or in-distress: None reported.-------
Report of Officers: Commandant Branscome reports on Budget meeting. Added $ for festivals (to cover cost of new tent) and added $ for Golf Tournament. New Total Budget is $. Scott Slater made a motion to accept new budget as stated. Frank Rinchich seconded, so carried.-------
Parades and Festivals: Irish-Italian Festival in September. Scott Slater reports that VFW Post 10804 of Little River requests Color Guard this Sunday, June 14 for their Flag Day Ceremony at 11:00 A.M. Four members in attendance volunteered to assist.-------
By-Laws: Commandant initiated a brief discussion on our current By-Laws. Based on discussion Ralph Lilley made a motion to keep our By-Laws as is. Frank Rinchich seconded, so moved.-------
Golf Tournament: Lee Schell reports having 15 teams of golfers, State Farm & Tom Perrone have donated for hole sponsors – Black Bear, Diamond Back, Beechwood, Sand Piper and Ocean Ridge have donated 4 rounds of free golf.-------
Marine Corps Ball: Shirley Rust reports getting $ in donations to go with current $ toward Ball.-------
Toys-for-Tots: Richard Rust states this year’s Toys-for-Tots will start in Sept. Richard has purchased golf balls would like to pass out at Golf Tournament and requests permission to place a donation bucket for Toys-for-Tots at Golf Outing, so given.-------
Unfinished Business: Richard Rust reports that anyone needing ribbon bars for detachment award ribbons to see him for availability.-------

Announcements: Scott Slater reports next Growl will be Tues., July 28 @1900 hrs. at Aberdeen Golf Club and Devil Dog Social Dinner (for Dogs and guests) on Thurs. July 23 @1800 hrs. at Patio’s Restaurant in Little River.
Next MCL meeting will be July 14, 2015 @ 1900 hours.-------
